Aloha e kākou,

It is almost a month since the Hoʻolaulā farewell, definitively an unforgettable one and great testament to the pilina we have built over the years.

Seeing so many of you reminded me of the strong bonds we've created.

We've dreamed, learned, worked, schemed, made films, and planned together. Thank YOU for making me feel so loved and appreciated. We share so many memories and for that I am forever grateful.

A big, and very special, thank you to the team for your thought and effort in every detail of the Hoʻolaulā, despite our limited time. From beautiful leis and decorations to delicious food, a welcoming venue, and thoughtful cards—every aspect mattered. You even convinced me to make a short film! Your love, kindness, and generosity are deeply appreciated and cherished!

While saying goodbye is never easy, I am excited about the future and the opportunities ahead. In my new role as Director of the Intercultural Film Exchange Program, where I will oversee cultural film collaborations and program development, my commitment to supporting and uplifting your stories through film is stronger than ever. Your heartfelt send-off has given me the strength and confidence to embrace this new journey.

In the meantime, if you want to follow my new adventures in Europe while getting accustomed back to my own hometown lifestyle - Catania, you can subscribe to https://conamorevera.substack.com! The official launch of the blog is October 1, 2025.

Thank you again for an unforgettable farewell and for being such a meaningful part of my life. I already miss you all, and I look forward to the day our paths cross again.

Con amore,

Vera <3
