Girls Make Movies Film Fest

(Honolulu, HI)— Hawaiʻi Women in Filmmaking proudly announces the GIRLS MAKE MOVIES FILM FESTIVAL on December 8, 2017 at the Honolulu Museum of Art Doris Duke Theatre.

The festival features short films produced at the 2017 Reel Camps for Girls and Making Media That Matters program and celebrates the brilliance of our girls in film. Audiences can expect to enjoy films that stretch across genre lines including animation, comedy, drama, horror, and beyond.

“We are proud to showcase the talent and pure brilliance of Hawaiʻi girls in film,” said Vera Zambonelli, Hawaiʻi Women in Filmmaking founder. “This year’s fest represents the culmination of one year of filmmaking programs which have served over 200 girls. It is our mission to redress gender inequity in the film industry and these girls are our future in the making.”

Full lineup will be available soon on our website hawaiiwomeninfilmmaking.org.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-serve.

Doors open at 5:30 / Screening starts at 6:00 pm / Program ends at 8:00 pm
