Making Media That Matters
MMTM aims to foster critical thinking and storytelling skills, as well as the technical abilities to create, write, direct, and edit their own film projects. Through the program, youth can become agents of social change by using film as a medium. MMTM is intentional in providing a space for youth to redress the inequities in mainstream film production and promoting alternative ways of being and doing in film and everyday life.

Reel Camps
Since 2012, the Reel Camps have provided a courageous and safe environment for girls (cis/trans), femmes, non-binary, gender-fluid, and gender-queer youth, as well as any other youth who identify outside of the gender binary. It is a place where youth can express their creativity, boost their confidence, and embark on a journey of personal transformation. Participants learn to create and share their own stories, which are meaningful and deserve to be heard and seen.

Wāhine in Film Lab
An incubator for the development of short film ideas into viable projects by the end of their time at the Lab.

Women of Wonders Film Fest
The Women of Wonders Film Fest highlights and celebrates the lives and accomplishments of women around the world, and here in Hawai‘i. The film fest presents a selection of films directed by women, about women, for everybody.

Leanne K. Ferrer Post-Production Fund
Our post-production funding supports films that in a meaningful way through plot, character, theme, or setting benefit the Hawaiʻi Wāhine filmmaking community in a professional and economic capacity.

The Film Production Assistant Workshop provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed as a production assistant (PA), offering both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for thriving in the industry.

Wāhine in Film Talk-Story
Using a screening and discussion format, our gathering series invites women filmmakers and women involved in the film industry to discuss their work, share work-in-progress, exchange experience, share their expertise and personal reflections about the making of films and the workings of the industry.

Pasifika Pitch Local Hawaiʻi
A curated program that highlights and supports media projects and powerful stories from Pasifika storytellers /voices as a live event where pitches are made, moderators work the room, and individuals step up to offer support of all kinds to advance the projects to production and community impact.
