Kumu Hina @the People's Hale

Aloha mai kakou,

If youʻre on Oahu on April 21st, please join us in The Peopleʻs Hale for a special screening of "Kumu Hina," an inspiring film about Honolulu native Hina Wong-Kalu, a teacher and community leader who brings to life Hawaii's traditional embrace of mahu, those who embody both male and female spirit. Offering an empowering cultural perspective on gender diversity and inclusion, the screening will be followed by a community conversation on important related issues being debated in Hawaii today and what we can do together to promote acceptance and respect for all -- what Hina calls the true meaning of aloha.

The event is Free & Open to the Public and takes place in The People's Hale - the Hawaii State Capitol Auditorium - Tuesday, April 21st, 5:30-8:00pm. All Welcome! General Seating, No Reservations.

Brought to you by Hawai‘i People's Fund, Hawai‘i Women in Filmmaking, PBS Hawai‘i, TransSpectrum Hawai‘i, and Pacific Islanders in Communications
